Technical & architectural illustration
John’s meticulously detailed cutaway art for major studio film properties has gained him international acclaim and his work has been published in conjunction with Pixar, Lucasfilm, Twentieth Century Fox and Universal Studios on properties such as ALIEN, STAR WARS, BATMAN, HALO, WARHAMMER and SERENITY/FIREFLY.
John also produces property portraits and high detail artist's impressions for the property market and his work is used by architects, property developers, planning consultants and archaeological conservationists.
John uses both traditional and digital media and will often combine the two to achieve a distinctive hybrid-style. The result combines watercolour's natural aesthetic with the precision and detail that computer generated imagery offers.
He is a Fellow and Council member of the Society of Architectural Illustration.
Film-making
John has produced several films showcasing his work as an illustrator and has also made music videos and environmental campaign films . The music video he conceived and directed, ‘The Joy and the Wonder’ -written, recorded and performed with his band Last Picture Show - won BEST MUSIC VIDEO at the 2021 Hollywood Art and Movie Awards.
He is currently researching and writing a screenplay for a science fiction feature film about mental health in the context of contemporary Britain.

Graphic Design
Producing marketing imagery for a variety of international entertainment corporations, John uses both 2D and 3D software to achieve a wide range of visual requirements. His extensive experience as an illustrator enables him to create photo-realistic imagery - an invaluable service for any company looking to create concept mock-ups and visualisations of product or point-of-sale proposals.
