ABOUT JOHN

Whether as writer, producer, director, editor or composer, John's film-making is typified by a love of visual & audio spectacle, a keen social conscience and a painstaking attention to detail across all disciplines. This same love of detail is the hallmark of his illustration and graphic design work, whilst a passion for collaboration and helping others has been a mainstay throughout John's life.

He is a longtime volunteer with The Newman Holiday Trust – a UK charity which provides weeklong residential holidays for children with special needs from disadvantaged backgrounds. As well as volunteering on these weeks every summer for 27 years, he has co-edited the Trust's annual magazine for 25 years and advises on the charity’s branding and visual representation.

John was a core member of environmental campaign group SOAR which was founded to protect the Thames Path in Reading from a policy-contravening development by Reading Borough Council. The team of volunteers won a landmark decision in 2018 when RBC's application to build an environmentally devastating concrete flyover along the Thames was twice overturned by neighbouring authority Wokingham Council.

He lives in Reading, UK with his wife and two sons.
