2022
Christmas
Various of John’s original artworks from Star Wars, Alien, Halo and Warhammer sell at auction in association with Omega Auctions.
Summer
John is researching and writing a science-fiction feature length screenplay on the subject of mental health and social justice.
Spring
International sales of original artworks include the APC cutaway original artwork as well as several Halo pieces
The Joy and the Wonder receives selection for FlickFair film festival 2022
February
New pet portraits service launched following an advertorial feature in Good Housekeeping Magazine.
2021
May
The Joy and the Wonder released online to widespread acclaim. Pearl Jam drummer Dave Abbrezzese makes a guest appearance as a contributor to the film’s online premiere.
The accompanying track now available to buy on iTunes and stream on Spotify.
January
- The Joy and the Wonder wins BEST MUSIC VIDEO at the Hollywood Art and Movie Awards film festival.
- Four month project completed : a major new cutaway artwork for Dorling Kindersley / Lucasfilm.
2020
Autumn
- The Joy and the Wonder makes Official Selection for London’s Lift-Off film festival. John is one of three film-makers interviewed as part of the online event.
- New website launched.
- Work is underway on a cutaway artwork for a major franchise.
Summer
- Last Picture Show’s new music video/film The Joy and The Wonder completed and currently being submitted to film festivals. John is also currently co-producing a short film about the Windrush Scandal with film-maker Robert Smith and award-winning writer Tanya Bittar Massally.
- Cutaway artwork commissioned for a major studio sci-fi property.
2019
Pre-production of The Joy and The Wonder from January - August, prior to shooting the film in September. Editing work commences in the Autumn.
January - Six brand new artworks commissioned for Free League’s title ALIEN ; The Roleplaying Game.
The RPG book is released in the Autumn.
2018
John and his family were lucky enough to receive a private tour of Lightstorm Entertainment's archive at their Los Angeles HQ. Jim Cameron's film-making has been a huge influence on John's work and it was an incredible experience to come face to face with the original iconic props from Terminator, Aliens, Avatar and Titanic. Photos of the tour can be seen here. Special thanks to Josh Izzo for making it all possible.
- 2006’s Aliens Dropship artwork cockpit receives a makeover.

2017
November - John contributes 6,000 word essay to the Nostromo Files blog in which he reminisces about his childhood sci-fi influences, gives his thoughts on 1979's Alien and shares his ambitions for cutaway about the franchise. Special thanks to Darrell Curtis.
October - 343 Industries release Halo Warfleet on which John collaborated with the legendary Hans Jenssen - it was Hans’ work that inspired and informed John’s own love & practice of cutaway art back in the late nineties. Between them Hans and John produce 10 new highly detailed cutaway artworks depicting ships from the HALO universe.
April - John releases his new film EEV: Making The Art Of to mark Alien Day 2017 .
2016
Chip off the Old Block. John’s eldest son Luke has a crack at the APC.
Production of five new Halo cutaway artworks for 343 Industries.
Small contribution to Beastly Pirates by the super-talented John Kelly, John’s former art editor from DK’s Star Wars titles.

August - Reading Abbey aerial view commissioned by my father and authority on all things Reading Abbey (also called John Mullaney )
May - " Framing them Immediately ". Serenity/Firefly star Nathan Fillion tweets his thanks for receiving a set of Serenity cutaways from John. The edition sells out in minutes.
April - Sigourney Weaver & the cast of Aliens sign one of the last remaining licensed Dropship prints, describing it as " One of the best and unique items they have had the pleasure to autograph".
